This section will give advice regarding employees who fail to turn up for work with no apparent explanation or attempt to contact their employer. Employers should have in place a procedure to contact the missing employee and if there is still no response then initiate disciplinary action and further action. Occasionally, after time, employers may have a case for dismissal but the new Dispute Resolution Regulations place a greater responsibility upon employers to ensure that the employee is fully involved in the termination process.
